<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil quantity adjusting mechanism capable of reducing a variation in the storage amount of oil adjusted by an overflow tube without excessively relying on the shape accuracies of related parts. <P>SOLUTION: This oil quantity adjusting mechanism includes a transmission case 1 in which a gear train 11 is stored, an oil pan 2 which is provided at the lower part of the transmission case 1 and has a drain hole 4 at the bottom, the overflow tube 6 which is vertically installed at the bottom of the oil pan 2 and has a fore end opening 66, at the fore end, for adjusting the oil quantity in the oil pan 2, and a drain plug 7 capable of closing the drain hole 4 of the oil pan 2.
