<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation device capable of visualizing and analyzing an internal structure of a huge object such as a volcano in real time from a remote place. <P>SOLUTION: This huge object measuring device includes a pair of muon sensor modules on which a plurality of muon sensors for detecting cosmic rays having passed through the huge object are mounted respectively, a muon readout module for receiving and processing output signals from each muon sensor, and a casing for storing the muon sensor modules and the muon readout module. The muon readout module has: a substrate; a muon readout processing circuit mounted on the substrate, connected to each muon sensor module, for processing a detection signal from each muon sensor, generating an angle distribution histogram, and accumulating it in a memory; and an Ethernet(R) interface mounted on the substrate, for calling data from the memory, and outputting the data to an external system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
