<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat that can be stored by a single operation and that can easily secure a larger space behind a seat back. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A seat 1 is slidably provided on a guide rail 3 laid on a cabin floor 2 of an automobile, and has a seat base 4 to which a seat cushion 5 and a seat back 6 are pivotally connected. The seat base 4 has a locking mechanism for fixing the seat base 4 at an appropriate position on the guide rail 3, a latch 16 engaged with a striker 15 provided to the seat cushion 5 to hold the seat cushion 5 at a seating position, a first operation lever 12 that is pivotally connected to a shaft 9 parallel to a width direction of the automobile and that acts on the locking mechanism, and a second operation lever 13 that is pivotally connected to a shaft 9 and acts on the first operation lever 12 and the latch 16.
