PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic firearm using both of an automatic firing mode and a semi-automatic firing mode and enabling operation in a closed bolt firing mode or an open bolt firing mode in both of the automatic firing mode and the semi-automatic firing mode. SOLUTION: The automatic firearm includes a firing mode selector 6 for switching a firing mode from the automatic firing mode to the semi-automatic firing mode. The firearm includes a firing mechanism with selection control 37 enabling the firearm to function in the closed bolt firing mode or the open bolt firing mode and in the automatic firing mode and the semi-automatic firing mode.
