<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily inspect the dummy pattern of a viewing angle control panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the display device 1 comprises: a first step of forming a non-inspecting panel 15 by stacking a display panel and the viewing angle control panel; a second step of inspecting the display state of the non-inspecting panel 15; a third step of manufacturing the display device from the non-inspecting panel 15 in which inspection is finished. In the second step, the non-inspecting panel 15 is arranged on a stage 40, and an optical filter 44 is inserted between the viewing angle control panel of the non-inspecting panel 15 and an inspector, and thereby, the display state of the dummy pattern is inspected from the front direction of the viewing angle control panel.
