PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate accurately the state of ground water by specifying spring water on a working face. SOLUTION: This ground water state evaluation system 1 is provided with: an infrared camera 3 for detecting a thermal infrared ray radiated from the working face F, and determining temperature distribution information by analyzing the intensity of the thermal infrared ray; a near-infrared camera 5 for detecting a near-infrared ray reflected by the working face F, and determining intensity distribution information of the near-infrared ray on the working face F by analyzing the intensity of the near-infrared ray; and an operation device 7 for evaluating the state of the ground water by specifying the spring water generated on the working face F, based on the temperature distribution information determined by the infrared camera 3 and the intensity distribution information determined by the near-infrared camera 5.
