<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein, in a method for producing an organic EL display panel including forming an organic compound layer by discharging an organic EL application liquid to a partitioned area surrounded by a bank, deviation of layer thickness of the organic compound layer from a design value which is caused by area fluctuation within the partitioned area by a patterning error in the formation of the bank causes a serious problem particularly in mass production for manufacturing a plurality of organic EL display panels from one substrate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing an organic EL display panel, the deviation of layer thickness of the organic compound layer is reduced by acquiring the area of each partitioned area in advance, and discharging an application liquid 8 into each partitioned area while controlling the quantity of organic EL application liquid according to the acquired area.
