An apparatus for producing a glass molded body comprising an upper mold which is provided with a first molding surface at the front end of a projected part, and a lower mold which has a hole slidable with respect to the projected part and is provided with a second molding surface at the bottom of the hole.  The apparatus for producing a glass molded body is characterized by being configured in such a manner that after filling the hole with a molten glass, the projected part is inserted into the hole, thereby press-molding the molten glass.
