The system has front car modules (12), main base modules (14) and rear modules (16) that are connected with each other by an adapter component. A rear seat cross beam is integrated into the main base modules. The main base modules are divided into a front region and a rear region, where the front region is arranged before the rear region in a vehicle longitudinal direction in an installation position of the main base modules. The front region extends from a connection region for the front car modules, to a driver seat cross carrier. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a motor vehicle body.
