<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing shape setting method for a spectacle lens that minimizes the center thickness if a specific value is assigned to the minimum value of the edge thickness, and to provide a method of manufacturing the spectacle lens and an intermediate lens for a spectacle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method includes the step of setting an X-Y orthogonal coordinate system in which the geometric center of a processed lens when the fitting point of the processed lens coincides with the fitting point of a spectacle frame is used as an origin, a horizontal direction and a vertical direction when the spectacle lens is worn are assigned as an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction, respectively, which pass through the origin; and the step of setting, as a processing shape for the intermediate lens, a processing area surrounded by a curve passing through points (+A, +C), (0, +B), and (-A, +C), a curve passing through points (+A, -C), (0, -B), and(-A, -C), a straight line passing through points (+A, +C) and (+A, -C), and a straight line (-A, +C) and (-A, -C).
