PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron tube which is reliably sealed. SOLUTION: The electron tube is provided with: a vacuum container having a side tube part formed of glass and a plate-like member formed of glass to close one opening of the side tube part; a first metal film provided on the end face of the side tube part; a second metal film opposed to the first metal film and provided on a peripheral edge portion of the vacuum-side face of the plate-like member; a third metal film provided on at least one of the outer wall face of the side tube part adjacent to the end face and the side face of the plate-like member adjacent to the peripheral edge portion; and a metal member formed of a low-melting-point metal to seal the side tube part and the plate-like member to each other while contacting the first metal film, the second metal film and the third metal film.
