<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter that prevents an alignment failure of liquid crystal around a tapered section of a laminated spacer and forms a high-definition space of a diameter of 20 μm, and a liquid crystal display device using the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: This color filter for the liquid crystal display device has a black matrix layer, respective colored pixels formed of a plurality of colored layers, and a spacer on a transparent substrate. The spacer is formed by stacking colored layers of at least two colors, the tilt angle of the tapered section on which the colored layer of the colored pixel adjacent to the black matrix layer and the spacer abut is within the range of 60 to 90°. Further, the spacer is formed on the black matrix layer, and the thickness of the black matrix layer is greater than that of the colored layer of the colored pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
