摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell and its manufacturing method advantageous for setting a pore diameter in a pore control layer in conformity with operating conditions for the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The gas diffusion layer 5 for the fuel cell, for diffusing reaction gas supplied from a reaction gas distributing plate to a catalyst layer, includes a porous base layer 51 with gas permeability arranged at a side opposed to the distributing plate of the reaction gas, and a porous pore control layer 52 with gas permeability laminated on the base layer so as to be positioned at a side opposed to the catalyst layer. The base layer 51 uses as a base material conductive fiber with conductivity and an adhesive material with water repellency. The pore control layer uses as a base material conductive fiver with conductivity and an adhesive material with water repellency. A length of the conductive fiber of the pore control layer 52 is set relatively shorter than that of the conductive fiber of the base layer 51.
