PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase torque to be generated and to facilitate fixing of a piece member to a base member. SOLUTION: A stator is provided with: an annular base member 13 having a plurality of first bases 16A and second bases 16B arranged between them, a piece member 14 having a plurality of teeth 12 and couplings 15; and a coil 20 which is wound selectively around the plurality of teeth 12, wherein a plurality of segments 30 each consisting of the piece member 14, the first base 16A and the coil 20 are arranged while holding an inter-segment core back 32 consisting of the second base 16B therebetween, adjoining segments 30 constitute phases different from each other, the inter-segment core back 32 has a cross-section which is smaller than that of an intra-segment core back 31 consisting of the first base 16A and the coupling 15, and the segment 30 and/or the inter-segment core back 32 are provided with a positioning portion 18 of the piece member 14 for the base member 13.
