<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable or slidable portable terminal that can output good-quality stereo sound having presence, enables receivers for reception and various speakers for sound output to be usable in common, and enables calls of both of handset and hands-free types regardless of open and closed states. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Two speaker sound holes 8, 9, which output various sounds including sounds for reception from one's call party, are disposed on the same surface as the mounting surface of a display 11 at an upper casing section 5 and near upper and lower sides in the longitudinal direction of the upper casing section 5. A microphone sound hole 4 for transmission to one's call party is disposed on a lower side of a lower casing section 6. In the foldable portable terminal, the upper casing section 5 is rotated via a hinge 7, and overlaps on the lower casing section 6 for closing while the speaker sound holes 8, 9 are exposed outside the casing.
