<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal shaft movable vane pump which achieves reduction in civil engineering costs and building construction costs by reducing an installation area for a pump facility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the horizontal shaft movable vane pump including an impeller rotating in a pump casing 1, and a pump main shaft 3 having a horizontal axial C mounted with the impeller and rotatably supported in the pump casing 1, in which output of a prime mover 29 is transmitted to the pump main shaft 3 via a transmission 28, and a vane angle control device 27 for changing a vane angle of the impeller 2 is coupled to a vane movable mechanism 19 in an impeller boss 12 through a vane angle operation bar, the vane angle control device 27 is installed on the outside of a discharge casing 36 erected and connected at the downstream side of the pump casing 1.
