<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a development plate for a box from a plate and folding the plate material into a box along creases. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The development plate 8 having a flat portion 1 and sides 2 is formed from the plate material. A bending groove 3 of a cross-section that has an inclined surface 9 on the opening side and has a rectangular inner part is formed in a part corresponding to each crease of the development plate 8, so as to leave a thin layer 5 in the plate material. The side edges 6 of the sides 2, which serve as joints between the sides 2 of the development plate 8, have a shape able to join them. An adhesive is applied to the bending groove formed in the part corresponding to each crease and to the joint between the side edges of the sides. Then, the thin layer left in a portion corresponding to the bending groove is folded into a box and joined. As the shape of the side edges 6 of the sides 2, the bending groove 3 is cut in the middle.
