<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the lifetime of a battery for accumulating the electric energy generated in an electric motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electric energy generated in the electric motor 74 of an electromagnetic suspension unit 20 is accumulated in first and second capacitors 126, 128, and the accumulated electric energy is supplied to an auxiliary battery 124 and accumulated. Though the amplitude of the current of the electric energy generated in the electric motor 74 and output from a driving circuit 100 is large, the amplitude of the current supplied to the auxiliary battery 124 is reduced by the smoothing effect of the capacitors 126, 128. As a result, the chemical reaction is consistently performed in the auxiliary battery 124, and the lifetime of the auxiliary battery 124 can be prolonged. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
