PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a droplet discharging apparatus having a movement detection means for control of movement in the side end of the set table which can detect the movement of the set table with high accuracy even when the set table yaws. SOLUTION: The droplet discharging apparatus includes: the set table 61; an X-axis table 2 moving the set table 61 in the X-axis direction; a linear encoder 76 for control of movement detecting the movement of the set table 61 at the end of the set table 61; a linear encoder 66 for control of discharge detecting the movement of the set table 61 on the central line of the set table 61; a movement controlling means for controlling the movement of the X-axis table 2 according to results of detection by the linear encoder 76 for control of movement; and a discharge controlling means for controlling the discharge of a functional droplet discharging head according to results of detection of the linear encoder 66 for control of discharge.
