<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch apparatus which is excellent in its ability to be laid out and which makes possible the setting of a plurality of variations at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The latch apparatus is provided with a latch mechanism and an open lever. The latch mechanism has an operation bush 43 which engages a striker and releases the engagement state, and the open lever releases the engagement of the striker by the latch mechanism. The open lever is rotated by the first and second latch-opening operation members (an operating handle 71 and a key rod 73), and is engaged with the operation bush 43 of the latch mechanism. The open levers 46A, 46B have an open lever body 47 and attachment parts 54A, 54B. The open lever body 47 has an operation part 49 and a first connection 53. The operation part 49 is engaged with the operation bush 43 of the latch mechanism, and the first connection 53 connects the first latch-opening operation member.
