<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for laser carving which has a high carving sensibility when being used for laser carving, and also, by which the removal of generated carving scums is easy, and to provide a relief printing original plate for laser carving of which the direct plate making is possible through laser carving, and wherein the removal of carving scums on the plate surface after the plate making is easy. <P>SOLUTION: This resin composition for laser carving at least contains (A) a composite of a laminar inorganic compound and a cationic organic compound, and (B) a binder polymer which is water-insoluble, and is soluble with a 1-4C alcohol.
