PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having an improved fitting property to the back of a wearer and providing a superior wearing property and leakage prevention property. SOLUTION: This disposable diaper 1 includes a surface sheet 2 forming a skin contact face, an absorber 4 and a back-side sheet 3 covering the surface of a skin non-contact face side of the absorber, and further includes, in the longitudinal direction, a back-side section A having a fastening tape, a crotch section B and a lumbar-side section C having a landing tape for fixing the fastening tape. The back-side sheet 3 is formed with dart sections or tuck sections 9 and 9 extending in the longitudinal direction of the diaper, the darts sections or tuck sections 9 are formed by folding part of the back-side sheet 3 and fixing the folded state, the dart sections or the tuck sections 9 have at least one portion at waist flap sections D of the back-side section A and the side of the skin contact faces P located at the waist flap sections D are covered with the surface sheet 2.
