<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catcher for apple snails (hereinafter, abbreviated as mud snails) harmful to rice farming work, especially a portable catcher enabling snails living anywhere in a paddy field to be caught in situ. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The snail catcher includes: a collector 4 for scooping mud snails or their baits; a separator 5 for sieving off articles larger than snails; a holder 3 having both sieving function for only the snails remained after continuously sieving and falling under the sieve and a muddy sand mixture and of holding the thus remained snails; an ejector 8 for unloading the snails; a flank enclosure 6 and a spilling-out preventive part 7 for preventing the snails from ejecting and/or spilling-out when the snails are scooped and/or sieved; and a handle 9, a grip 10, or the like for facilitating the catcher's carriage and operation. In the catcher, the components are attached onto frames 2(2A to 2D). Collected things are continuously sieved in two steps in the separator 5 and the holder 3. only the snails remain and held in the holder 3, therefore being very easy to separate unnecessary things off. Further, as the catcher is light in weight with a simple structure, it is very easy to carry, serving as a snails-removing tool suitable for non-agrochemical cultivations.
