<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a detecting member from becoming a hindrance when pulling out a printing medium storage part from a storage part, by pulling up the detecting member for detecting the existence of a printing medium in the printing medium storage part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When pulling out a paper feeding cassette from a state of storing the paper feeding cassette in the storage part, a state where a projection of the paper feeding cassette butts against a projection 76 of a link member 71 is released, and the link member 71 rotates in the direction of an arrow 72 by energizing force of a torsion spring 73, and a connecting member 75 engages with a projection 74 of the detecting part 53, and the detecting part 53 is pulled up and retreated by the connecting member 75.
