The method involves recording a two-dimensional representation (3) of a face of a person by a digital camera (1), and supplying a digital individual image of the camera to a computer unit (4). A low-value image intensity within a preset partial area of the face sample is determined, and a value of the intensity is compared with a black value of the camera, where the black value is stored in the computer unit. A signal for displaying the two-dimensional representation is generated when the intensity is greater than multiplication of algorithm stored in the computing unit and the black value. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting two-dimensional representation of a face of a person.
