<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device, capable of attaining both the rise of luminous flux in an early stage of emission and maintenance of luminous flux in a stabilized state of emission without elongating a pipe extending between a base member and an end portion of a light emitting tube. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 includes a light emitting tube 2 and a discharge medium 6. The discharge medium 6 includes rare gas 8 and amalgam 9 sealed and disposed within the light emitting tube 2, and mercury vapor generated from the rare gas 8 and the amalgam 9 releases electromagnetic wave including ultraviolet ray in an early stage of emission. On the other hand, when the emission is stabilized, mercury vapor higher in emission efficiency than the rare gas 8, which is generated from at least the amalgam 9, releases electromagnetic wave including ultraviolet ray. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
