PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rocking chair which prevents the phenomenon of turning-up of a shirt. SOLUTION: The chair has a base 3, an intermediate member 42, a seat 4, a rocking frame 10 and a backrest 66. The front part of the intermediate member 42 is connected with the base 3 by a front link 43. The seat 4 and the rocking frame 10 are connected by a rear link 14. The seat 4 is inclined backward at an angle smaller than that of the backrest 6 by restricting action of the front and rear links 43 and 14 and largely moves backward at the same time during rocking. The front link 43 is composed of an upper member 54 and a lower member 53 in an extendable manner. Accordingly, the intermediate member 42 largely goes backward during rocking. An auxiliary frame material 45 is attached to the intermediate member 42 so that it can slide back and forth. The seat 4 is connected with the auxiliary frame material 45. The upper number 54 of the front link 43 is connected with the auxiliary frame material 45. The seat 4 moves backward at a rate larger than that of the intermediate member 42.
