<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tide prevention apparatus which can surely dam up water at submergence and the like, enables quick installation of a tide prevention plate even when a large amount of water flows at once at tsunami arrival, bank rip, and the like, and is operated only when necessary to surely dam up water. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tide prevention apparatus includes an underground pit formed below the ground level and filled with water, the tide prevention plate embedded so as to sink into the underground pit, and a gas injector structured inside the tide prevention plate sinking into the underground pit so as to allow gas injection into the inside of the tide prevention plate.
