<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device securing reliability of a load sensor section so that controllability of fuel injection is successfully maintained for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This fuel injection device is provided with: operation elements; a piezoelectric actuator 22 driving the operation elements 18, 34; and a control device 300 driving and controlling the piezoelectric actuator and switching the operating condition of the piezoelectric actuator by charging/discharging control performing charging/discharging with respect to the piezoelectric actuator. The piezoelectric actuator has a drive section 70 with charging/discharge controlled by the control device, and a load sensor section 60 detecting a load generated in the drive section. The control device is provided with: an input circuit 3b inputting detected output from the load sensor section; a high voltage applying circuit 3e charging the load sensor section; and switching means 3c, 3d switching a circuit connected to the load sensor section from the input circuit 3b to the high voltage applying circuit 3e, under a switching condition that the output state of the load sensor section is in a specific output state.
