<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight projection image display configured, such that a relative misregistration is hardly caused between a screen and an optical engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The projection image display includes the optical engine 100, the screen 1, a back cabinet 2 and a front cabinet 3. The optical engine 100 emits light corresponding to image signals input thereto. The light emitted from the optical engine 100 is made incident on the screen 1, and the screen 1 displays the light as an image. The back cabinet 2 has the screen 1 provided thereon and houses the optical engine 100 thereinside. The front cabinet 3 has the back cabinet 2 provided thereon, is provided in front of the screen 1 and has an opening part 3a, which corresponds to the display part of the screen 1.
