<p>Provided are a novel practical method with which columnar ZnO particles can be advantageously manufactured industrially, and columnar ZnO particles that are obtained as a novel material using the method and can be advantageously used. A plate-like Zn compound precipitated by introducing NH3 into a ZnCl2 aqueous solution is used as the starting material. After said compound is heat-treated at a low temperature in a liquid, it is heated and dried, and multiple columnar ZnO particles are produced. The particles are such that a single particle is longer in one direction than in another, the direction of the long axis of the ZnO particles is the same, and multiple particles are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the long axis.</p> |
