<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a visually excellent playback image even when encoding is performed while setting compressibility high. <P>SOLUTION: A moving image encoding device includes: an encoding means for dividing the image of moving image data into a plurality of blocks, generating a predictive image using images in the past or in future, and encoding a difference between an image to be encoded and the predictive image; a motion vector search means for searching for the motion vector of the block to be encoded while referring to the image in the past or in future as a reference image; a compressibility setting means for setting compressibility in encoding to be performed by the encoding means; and a calculation method change means for changing the method of calculating the motion vector to be implemented by the motion vector search means in accordance with the compressibility in encoding set by the compressibility setting means, thereby performing encoding in which it is difficult to visually recognize image deterioration during playback. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
