<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an uninterruptible power supply unit and a method for interrupting the uninterruptible power supply unit, independently determining a fault of the own unit and selectively and interrupting within a time shorter than one cycle of AC output. <P>SOLUTION: The uninterruptible power supply unit 1 converts DC voltage into AC voltage and supplies the converted AC voltage to a load device. The unit 1 has a control section 4 for determining a fault by using an instantaneous value of the voltage and current in the own device. The unit 1 is preferably provided with an inverter section 3 having a semiconductor bridge circuit 12 for generating a sine wave AC voltage by modulating a DC voltage Edc based on a voltage command value u and a filter circuit 13 inserted in series between the semiconductor bridge circuit 12 and the load device; and a separating switch 5 for connecting or disconnecting the inverter section 3 and the load device in response to the fault determination by the control section 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
