<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can perform a high-speed and exact print control by performing a synchronous processing of a scan command preparation and real printing scan operation and the following processing at an optimal timing with an easy configuration and control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printer includes an operation control section for forming a command for print operation and command for sending by a logical position management, and a print control section for controlling the operation based on the information from a sensor used for detecting the paper position. In the printer wherein the executions of both the operation control section and the print control section are asynchronously performed, the operation control section logically manages the position where the print control section detects the rear end of the paper with the sensor and once makes a synchronizing with the print control section and obtains the physical position of the paper, thereby performs the following processing with a physical position management.
