A method and apparatus for transmitting Physical Layer Operations Administration and Maintenance message are provided, in which, the method includes: a multiple of messages whose content length together is less than predetermined length are joined into a group of message by predetermined mode, and the group of message is transmitted in a GPON Transmission Convergence frame. The problems such as wasting the bandwidth, increasing the time of message interaction, reducing the reliability of message interaction in the prior art can be overcome through the present invention, so that the bandwidth occupation reduces, the time of message interaction reduces, and the reliability of message interaction increases effectively. |
