An apparatus for providing expedited navigation may include a processor. The processor may be configured to generate an object indicative of a direction to a location of an item of interest associated with a content item, wherein the object comprises information associated with the item of interest. The processor may additionally be configured to provide for display of a portion of the content item and the object in a viewable area, wherein the item of interest is located outside the viewable area. The processor may further be configured to provide for automatic navigation of the content item to the location of the item of interest based at least in part on information associated with the object.
