<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease blocking artifacts in video encoding wherein motion compensation is performed. <P>SOLUTION: In an image decoding method, when the motion compensation prediction of a first block and a second block which are adjacent to a border is performed, it is evaluated whether a first motion vector and a second motion vector used therefor are similar to each other, and it is evaluated whether reference images are the same between the first block and second block. Here, it is determined whether deblock filtering is performed on each border between adjacent blocks in a reference image for a luminance channel Y and a chrominance channel U, V, respectively. When the motion vectors of one of the luminance channel and chrominance channel are similar to each other and point the same reference image, deblock filtering is not performed on the border of the luminance channel and the border of the chrominance channel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
