<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detection sensor, capable of detecting an occupant sitting on a vehicle seat even if a buckle is in contact with the occupant or covered with clothes or the like, the buckle and a seat belt device. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant detection sensor is disposed in a buckle 1 of a seat belt apparatus and includes: a light emitting element 2 disposed at a position facing the occupant (occupant-side face 11); a light receiving element 3 disposed adjacent to the light emitting element 2; and protection means 4 for protecting the light emitting element 2 and the light receiving element 3 from being in contact with another object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
