PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connector for holey fiber connection, which does not need a polishing of the end face and is assembled on a site, to provide a method of assembling the optical fiber connector and to provide an adapter. SOLUTION: A bending space-forming part 20 provided with a bending space 21 in which the holey fiber 40 is bent is connected to the rear end of an optical fiber aligning part 10, an optical fiber holding part 30 is further connected, the holey fiber 40 of which the front end part is cleaved and tapered is held and fixed by the optical fiber holding part 30 while the front end part of the holey fiber is projected by a certain amount from the front end of the optical fiber aligning part 10, thus a physical contact is made possible by making use of pressurizing force generated by bending the holey fiber 40 at the time of assembly, thereby eliminating the polishing of the end face of the fiber, which is conventionally necessary for the physical contact.
