<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting the position of a workpiece in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: This workpiece detection system has a plurality of ultrasonic tags 7 arranged in the workpiece 11 and transmitting a signal by an ultrasonic wave, three or more of ultrasonic wave receivers 15 for receiving the signal transmitted by the ultrasonic tags 7, and a position arithmetic operation part for detecting a place of the ultrasonic tags 7 by using an arrival time of the signal received by the plurality of ultrasonic wave receivers 15.
