<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and structurally-simple joint device and a joining method for a space truss, which enable truss members to be easily joined together at an optional angle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The joint metal 10 for the space truss, which joins the plurality of truss members 16 constituting the space truss, includes a polygonal ring; and a screw rod 12 and a nut 14 as engaging portions for engaging the truss member 16 are provided on the at least three sides of a polygon. An end of the truss member 16 is provided with an opening 20 which can be engaged in such a manner as to be freely turnable around the direction of the extension of the side of the ring, serving as an axis, and which can transmit the member force of the truss member 16 to the screw rod 12.
