PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a window opening/closing device which has a simple structure and which does not hinder the motion of a sliding screen. SOLUTION: This window opening/closing device includes an arm member 21 which is protruded to the outside of a window frame 1 from the state of being pulled into the inside of the window frame 1, and which is supported on the side of the window frame 1 in such a manner as to be swingable within the range of the state of being pulled into the inside of the window frame 1. The window opening/closing device also includes an engaging member which is attached to the sliding screen 2, which starts engagement when the arm member 21 is protruded to the outside of the window frame 1 by the swing motion of the arm member 2, and which maintains the engagement until the arm member 21 is pulled into the inside of the window frame 1 so as to put the sliding screen 2 into a closed state. The arm member 21 is swung by an operation mechanism 56 for swinging the arm member 21, so as to open/close the sliding screen 2. The sliding screen 2 is biased in the direction of an opened state; the operation mechanism 56 is equipped with a wire 50, the one end of which is fixed on the side of the window frame 1, and which is looped over a pulley 32 arranged in the arm member 21; and the arm member 21 is swung by winding up the wire 50.
