<p>The present invention relates to a screening method for the identification of new benzothiazinone drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis. The method comprises the use of the nitroreductase Nfnb from Mycobacterium smegmatis GM22, which has no mutation compared to other mycobateria nitroreductases.</p>
