The vehicle pneumatic tire has a profiled tread and a peripheral groove (5) running in the peripheral direction of the tire. The bevels are formed at the tread surface along the peripheral sections (5a) of the peripheral groove by chamfering at the profile elements (2a) limiting the peripheral groove at both sides. The profile elements stretch till a depth of 30 percent of the profile depth.
