A speaker is generally used while being fixed to an enclosed or semi-closed cabinet so that vibrations generated in front and rear of a diaphragm don't interfere with each other. Specified depth and volume are thereby required and in a limited place such as the front panel of an apparatus, the speaker may not be fixed to an optimal place for a listener. As a solution, a method for guiding the sound of the speaker to the front panel by means of a waveguide has been put to practical use. Nevertheless, the depth and the fixing position are restricted and good efficiency can't be attained. A sound generated in front of a speaker fixed to a cabinet is guided by means of a waveguide to a plane such as the front panel of an apparatus, and the speaker is fixed such that the opening plane of the waveguide becomes substantially perpendicular to the plane. Since a good sound field is generated on the side, of a plane level with the waveguide opening plane, opposite to the plane, a high efficiency speaker system in which the fixing position of a speaker is not restricted can be attained.
|
