A linear motor is reduced in thickness.  The linear motor (100) comprises helical coils (141, 142, 441, 442) and movable parts (120, 220) which have a first magnetic pole surface (121a) with a first polarity on the surface thereof facing the helical coils and a second magnetic pole surface (122a) with a second polarity different from the first polarity, and which are disposed movably along the surface of the spiral coils.
