<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute gradation conversion for improving apparent image quality even if a D-A converter is interposed. <P>SOLUTION: Each of gradation conversion parts 41 and 42 executes gradation conversion for converting, for instance, a 12-bit image supplied to an 8-bit image. A signal of the image subjected to gradation conversion by the gradation conversion part 41 is supplied to an output terminal of a digital output. A signal of the image subjected to gradation conversion by the gradation conversion part 42 is subjected to D-A conversion by a D-A converter 43 supplied to an output terminal of analog output. A filter coefficient of filtering in the gradation conversion part 42 is determined in accordance with a frequency characteristic of the DA converter 43.
