<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library device capable of improving the cartridge accommodation efficiency by suppressing the installation area, and reducing the facility cost, and to provide a cartridge-carrying method. <P>SOLUTION: The library device includes: a cell 1, capable of accommodating a plurality of cartridges 2; a drive for recording/reproducing data with the cartridge 2; and an accessor 4 for carrying the cartridge 2 between the cell 1 and the drive. The cell 1 is provided with a first rack gear 11, formed extending in a direction in which the accommodated cartridges 2 are arranged. The accessor 4 includes an accessor base 41, having a second rack gear 43 extending in the extending direction of the first rack gear 11 and formed corresponding to the first rack gear 11; and a feed block 42, provided with pinion gears 6a and 6b engaged with the second rack gears 11 and 43, a driving part 5 for driving the pinion gears 6a and 6b, and a holding part 42a for holding the cartridges 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
