<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that can suppress an increase of cost while reducing animation blurring. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An interpolation video signal for interpolation between frames is generated from a video signal and a video signal which is delayed by one frame period. The video signal is delayed by half the frame period to generate a delayed video signal. The delayed video signal and the interpolation video signal are alternately applied to a source electrode corresponding to each pixel arranged in the horizontal direction of an image display section by line in half the horizontal cycle, and a gate pulse for displaying the delayed video signal and the interpolation video signal which are applied in the line of a prescribed vertical position is generated and applied to a gate electrode corresponding to each of the pixels arranged in the vertical direction of the image display section.
