PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tin oxide powder excellent in homogeneous miscibility for indium oxide powder as a starting material of ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) sintered body. SOLUTION: The tin oxide powder has bulk density of 0.60 to 1.20 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. Such a tin oxide powder has low bulk density and has a small difference of bulk density as compared to indium oxide powder and, therefore, the homogeneous miscibility for the indium oxide powder can be improved.
